Trans Formation- A Community Gathering and Celebration of Q Voices

June 28, 2023 @ 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM PDT

Are you someone that feels like post-API Heritage Month, then Pride Month, you’re just exhausted and wondering where all the support went?

Join NAAAP Pride, Human Rights Campaign, and NQAPIA for a supportive discussion and community gathering of individuals. We will be sharing Q API stories, having APHIM/Pride Month recap discussions, while maintaining a welcoming and supportive space to have opportunities for casual social interactions that will be integrated with structured discussions. *This is a virtual event.

We will be focusing on:

  • Recapping APIHM/Pride Month emotions and feelings
  • Opening space for questions and concerns for the community going forward
  • Discussing what we can do to safely advocate and protect ourselves and our community in different spaces (family, friends, office spaces).
  • Celebrating different ANHPI Q voices and sharing stories.

Come join us for this end of Pride Month event and we’ll help you navigate that lingering post-APIHM/Pride month question, what’s next?

*Virtual Zoom link will be provided prior to event.

Partnered Organizations

Human Rights Campaign– The Human Rights Campaign – America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer equality. Since 1980, they’ve led the way in fighting for LGBTQ+ equality and inclusion. They empower our 3 million members and supporters to mobilize against attacks on the most marginalized people in our community. By inspiring and engaging individuals and communities, HRC strives to end discrimination against LGBTQ people and realize a world that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all. The Human Rights Campaign envisions a world where lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people are ensured equality and embraced as full members of society at home, at work and in every community.

NQAPIAThe National Queer Asian Pacific Islander Alliance (NQAPIA) empowers LGBTQ+ Asians and Pacific Islanders through movement capacity building, policy advocacy, and representation. NQAPIA provides capacity building support, resources, and connections to LGBTQ+API groups and change-makers; advances an intersectional justice and equity agenda; and ensures LGBTQ+API representation everywhere, especially in research and resource development. Founded in 2005 as a federation of dozens of small, volunteer-run groups across the country, NQAPIA is embedded in generations- and centuries-old traditions of resistance, resilience, and community-making among LGBTQ+ Asians and Pacific Islanders.

NAAAP Pride – NAAAP Pride is a national program by The National Association of Asian American Professionals. It is here to empower, educate, engage, and celebrate the Asian American LGBTQ+ community and its allies by providing education, promoting visibility, and developing current and future LGBTQ+ leaders. They provide resources and support for those in all stages of their journey and for those creating affirming work and learning spaces where Asian American LGBTQ+ students and employees can live, work, and study safely, openly, and genuinely.
